Follow Jesus

You have reached this page because you want to acknowledge something about Jesus. At this point you do not need to have all the answers but simply a willingness to journey with Jesus in life.

Please follow these simple steps:

follow-gapAcknowledge that you have made mistakes that have upset God

Whilst we all try hard to do the right thing none of us manages it. We all find that we sometimes do things which God would rather we didn't. I know that I do, even though I don't want to. God understands why we make such mistakes and God also knows that these mistakes separate us from His presence. We call these things sin.

In effect this sin creates a chasm between us and God. It doesn't matter how small that sin is it is still enough to create a gap that on our own we cannot cross. It doesn't matter how big or small the gap is we cannot bridge it alone.

We must ask God for His forgiveness.

follow-bridgeUnderstand that Jesus provides a way across.

So God provided a way across. He took the consequences of our sin on himself so that he could become the bridge across the gap for us.

All God asks us to do is to ask for help. God will not force us to cross, he wants us to choose to cross.

When we choose to cross we pass in to a new life. This does not mean that we will no longer make mistakes but simply that we will try not to. We will ask God to help us live life as it was meant to be.

A prayer

Lord Jesus Christ

I am sorry. I am sorry that I have hurt you and I ask you to forgive me.

I want to say thank you that you have taken the consequences of the things I have done wrong onto yourself.

Thank you for the suffering you endured on the cross. Thank you for rising from the dead to bring me new life.

From today I dedicate my life to you. Please help me. Help me to live the way you want me to.

Today I freely and willingly give my life to you.
