More Information about the Jesus Course

Aren't you biased in what you say about Jesus?

Yes, we are. We are Christians and make no apologies for that but want to make the point that it is impossible not to be biased in some way about Jesus. If we were atheists or agnostics then we would be just as biased but in a negative way. If you want to learn about Jesus from those who have dedicated their lives to learning about him and following him then this is the place for you - if you want to know about Jesus from a negative aspect and listen to those who just want to destroy what he stands for then this is not the site for you. You should also know that being biased does not automatically make you wrong, we want you to explore for yourself so you can make your own choices. How can you choose if you don't have the information you need to make a choice?

What are your own beliefs?

Our beliefs are based primarily on the bible and then we also adhere to the creeds of the early church (for example the Nicene and Apostles creeds). This means we are mainstream Christian and we certainly do believe in the trinity and the divinity of Jesus Christ.

We share the vision of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland and agree with the Evangelical Alliances basis of faith.

How long does the course take?

It's up to you. We have done all we can to give the important information on each page with the option to explore in more depth through other pages and websites. If you work through the sessions quickly then you should be able to finish in just a few hours but if you want to explore in more depth you could spend a lot longer.

How much does the course cost?

Nothing. This course is offerend completely free of charge. There are running costs and we are happy if you want to make a donation but this is certainly not expected or anticipated.

Will you try to convert me?

All we do is present you with information that will help you make an informed choice about Jesus. At times we may challenge you to think about what we have said but that is all. You are more than welcome to discuss what you read with your friends and seek their opinion. However be aware that your friends may well know less than you do (unless they have taken this course!) and so you may be better served going to see your local Minister/Vicar/Priest.

We do include a page in the site for those people who want to make a response and you will find links within the course to take you to this page - if you want to. If you want to make a response then you will have the chance to send us your email address so we can forward some more information on to you. We will not give or sell your email address to anyone else.

We do not believe in applying pressure to anyone to do anything that they are unhappy about.

Will you try and make me go to church?

No. What you do is entirely up to you. We do not want you to do anything that you are not happy about. We are happy to put you in touch with a church but we do not expect this of anyone who takes the course. We do not believe in applying pressure to anyone to do anything that they are unhappy about.

Where did you get your information from?

Our information comes from a variety of sources and books. You can find out more about contributers on the "who wrote the Jesus course" page.
