Jesus in 140

Jesus in 140 characters or less

I had the idea of getting Jesus across in 140 characters or less (the magic twitter number). I’m sure someone else has already done this but here are my efforts.

Parables:

    • Do you cover the lights in your house? No, you display them. Hidden things are to be revealed. Listen!
(I started easy with the Lamp under the bushel Mark 4:21-25)

  • Jesus said: Practice my teachings and build on storm safe rock. Don’t practice my teachings and you build on wash away sand.
    (Matthew 7:24-27)
  • No-one repairs old clothes with a patch that might shrink because it will just make things worse. Mt 9:16 Jesus 140
  • New wine can only go in new skins. New wine in old skin will lead to a split. Those who taste old wine don’t want new. Luke 5:36
  • Farmer sows seeds on different soils: hard = birds eat seed, rocky = plants wither, thorny = plants choked, good = fantastic results (Matt 4: 1-20 – this is the parable)
  • Soils = Jesus’ message: Hard = message snatched away, rocky = short lived response, thorny = other concerns choke interest, good = success! (Matt 4: 1-20 – this is the meaning)
  • God’s kingdom is like a tiny mustard seed that when planted will grow into a huge mustard tree. Mark 4:30-34
