Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday gets it’s name from the story of Jesus riding in to Jerusalem. The crowds cut branches which they laid on the road for Jesus’ donkey to ride on.
It is usually seen as a wonderful time of celebration by people and churches often get the younger people to do something special on the day.
However, Palm Sunday is really a day of challenge for us.
The crowd was divided on the day into those who wanted to crown Jesus as the King of Israel and those who wanted him to shut up and go away. Doubtless there were also those who sat in the middle and didn’t really know what to think.

We discover that the crowd is persuaded to make a choice by the events of Holy Week (Palm Sunday to Easter Day). By Friday the majority are crying out for Jesus’ blood – and they get what they desire.
